The verification method the customer imposes travels with the line and is locked like its text. The case takes it by default; a different method is reported on the matrix, never refused.
Re-issue a line and every case on it reads to re-confirm: the evidence stays exactly as recorded, and the line stops counting as verified until an engineer confirms the case or runs it again.
